I have known No Limit Ships since 2005, when I had the Blauwe Stad 880 – construction number 4 – built. Once I became addicted to sailing, I developed the idea for a larger summer-and-winter ship, which I would also be able to work on. The new ship was the Citation 1350, externally based on the Citation 1250 – which the shipyard had already built two of in 2001 – but completely redesigned on the inside in line with my own ideas.
I wanted to be able to comfortably sail the ship on my own, plus a few other requirements – including in relation to seaworthiness, noise, preservation, “winter steadiness”, independence from shore power and size of the tanks – were realised too. It has truly become a fantastic ship, which can be effortlessly sailed and on which a wonderful time can be had.
What I particularly like about No Limit Ships is their technical know-how and the way in which they work together and communicate, both as a team at the shipyard and with me as their customer. No idea is too crazy, agreements in relation to prices and costs are always clear and any disagreements are quickly resolved. Technically it’s truly state of the art: the company also builds professional ships for the international market and applies this knowledge and experience to their yachts too. I’d probably rather show off the engine room than the rest of the ship and the Volvo mechanic who maintains my engine told me he'd never seen such a perfect engine room.
If you want to go through life carefree with so much technology on board, then it’s absolutely essential for the shipyard to be at your disposal with advice and assistance at all times. And that certainly happens to our complete satisfaction. Simply a great ship from a great yard.
